Collection: Pamela Blair

Pamela Blair is a celebrated children's book author and co-founder of Eyeseeme, an African American Children's Bookstore. Her writing encompasses both secular and biblical history, with a particular emphasis on portraying positive black images. One of Pamela's recent titles, "Abraham," delves into the story of Abraham from the Bible and his transformative journey to the Land of Canaan. In addition to books, Pamela also creates interactive children's card games, such as "The Lost Sheep Series - Inventors Edition," a memory matching card game where players match African American inventors to their inventions, all beautifully depicted with vivid black imagery.

With a Bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickerson University and a background in corporate America, Pamela's writing journey began when she struggled to find books that portrayed African Americans positively while raising her four children. Determined to provide her children with stories that showcased their own heritage, she started crafting her own narratives, incorporating empowering black imagery. The impact was profound. As her children identified with influential black heroes of the past, they began to believe in their own boundless potential. They excelled in gifted programs, participated in leadership conferences, engaged in public speaking, and attended prestigious institutions like Harvard University.

Unfortunately, the prevailing narrative often undermines the value and worth of black children from a very young age. This "Miseducation," as Carter G. Woodson coined it a century ago, is largely perpetuated by the lack of representation or positive depictions in their books.

Pamela's passion lies in sharing the success she achieved in raising high-achieving children with other black parents. Through her ongoing writing endeavors, accompanied by empowering black imagery, and the presence of Eyeseeme bookstore, Pamela aims to foster a community that instills in children a sense of pride in their heritage and an awareness of the remarkable achievements of their ancestors. Her mission is to shield them from negative stereotypes, inspire them to reach their full potential, and create a lasting impact.
